VIOLENCE OF TV
Since 1926, Television has been in people's life big time. It lets people know what is going on in their country or around the world, and entertains people with a variety of different kinds of segments. But one of its worst impacts around the world is that nowadays having a channel on TV has became one of the largest business areas around the whole world. It is becoming more of a making money sector instead of having good sections on TV which would help people in their lives. Even in news , we hear about how a celebrity wearing “X Brand” shoes, instead of watching shows which entertains people in a good way and does not offend people about their thoughts or believes. In the the year of 2012, TV is violating peoples lives.
In the 21st century, almost everyday in news , we hear about people who are getting killed, crashing cars while they were to imitate people from Tokyo Drift. Nowadays, most of the shows have things that would actually make people think that it is worth doing it. The owners of channels are only thinking about how to make more money, so they do not care about what they put on TV, and how would these things affect to peoples lives. That is why the percentage of deaths caused from TV shows have gone up 38% more in last three years. For example. In 2005, a kid in Turkey thought he was superman and he could fly, so he jumped out of the 10th floor of the apartment and died. Also there was a criminal who watched the whole season of a dramatic TV show named “ Dexter” and cut people up who he thought that they were not good people. Basically the TV shows are now made to have more rating so people can make money.
Besides crimes, these shows in these days are effect kids life when they are in their character development process. Since 2008, after the a release of TV series called “ The Valley of Wolves” in Turkey which was about mafia's lives and showed them really cool that the smoking age in Turkey went down to age 14 from age 18. The little kids thought they were one of the characters in the series and started to act like it. There was a kid who shot his friend because they were playing their little being mafia game and he took his fathers gun from a drawer and shot his friend. Also the average of selling suit in a well known suit selling store went up 30 % in three months, because most of the teenagers thought it was a good thing to dress up like a mafia. The amount of the students who smoke cigarettes in high school bathrooms went up to 45%. 10 years prior to that, the smoking age was 19 and only 8.5% of the high school students were smoking which still is a big amount of people but way better than 45 %.
Television has made people too blind that now most of the people thinks that it is a good thing to act like one of the criminals from a TV show or a bully from a movie,etc... But most of the TV producers are making these bad characters look really cool in theirs shows so it effects people with a lack of education and little kids in a bad way. Since the we are in the world that money is over everything, people does not care about these kind of things that are happening all over the world. TV shows should show the bad characters in a bad way that the people from age 5-16 could understand a difference between being cool by having good manners, being polite to people instead of bullying, fighting, smoking, etc. Since these bad things takes people's attention TV channels shows them in a good way instead of explaining why they are bad things to do. In order to have our children grow up and develop their characters' in a good way, these bad things that are being shown on TV must stop thus, when they grow up, they can be helpful to the universe ,to their own country and people.
